Z pewnością nie jest zbyt trudny do amatorskiego wykonania. Tyle znalazłem w opisie jakiejś aukcji: "The Hoosier Whirlwind compressed air motor occupies a unique spot in model airplane history. Small gasoline or alcohol powered model airplane engines did not come into use in the United States until the early mid 1930's. Before that a modeler's choice of power was limited to rubber motors, or to compressed air motors. There were a number of designers of such motors, both in the United States and in England. But the fellow who hit the "sweet spot" as far as the compressed air motor market was concerned was Bert Pond. Pond was a high school shop teacher in Peru Indiana in 1926. He designed a three cylinder compressed air motor as a project for members of his shop class. It could be fabricated out of sheet brass and brass tubing available at the local hardware store. {It still can be for that matter, today in 2014.] Pond's shop class students built there motors. Pond wrote an article and publishing drawings for the project in Popular Mechanics magazine . The article came out just a month or two before Charles Lindbergh made his successful flight from New York to Paris in May 1927. Pond and his students were deluged with orders for this "Hoosier Whirlwind" compressed air motor. They made and sold thousands of them over the next few years. Boys and young men of the early 1930's would buy these motors and put them in large, lightly built free flight models and wear themselves out pumping the air tanks up with bicycle pumps. Back in the day the air tanks were made out of thin sheet brass soldered together with brass plumbing fittings (a sort of half dome shape) soldered on the ends. The Hoosier Whirlwind I'm selling here is a stock one. The air tank however is different. The late Tom Lay (a compressed air modeler of some skill) set it up with a carbon tube tank that's 24 inches long with a 2 inch inernal diameter. The end caps are metal and they are screwed and glued on the tube. The tank is fitted with a stock female tire valve fitting and an "on off" needle valve. The Whirlwind is fitted to one of the end caps. I've not run the motor, although it turns freely. (Customary practice with these Whirlwinds is to lube them with light oil every three or four flights). I've also not pressure tested the tank. If you plan to build and fly a model in the Society of Antique Modelers compressed air event, you should pressure test the tank before using the motor and tank. Most compressed air event competitors are pumping their tanks up to somewhere between 100 and 150 psi for a competition flight. So you should test the tank to the 150 psi level. Ostatni wpis w tym temacie był baaaardzo dawno... Kolejny ciekawy motorek potrzebuje pomocy. Złamane dwa wkręty w karterze... Po napunktowaniu punktakiem automatycznym, wiercenie i wykręcenie za pomocą skrobaka, gwinty w karterze nie ucierpiały ???????????? BTW czy ma ktoś taki motorek?

Pierwszy zdeklarowany kolekcjoner silniczków modelarskich ponoć dostawał je w gratisie od ówczesnych producentów...ale to było wtedy kiedy po ziemi biegały jeszcze dinozaury ????????????

Dopiero wczoraj odebrałem przesyłkę ???? W najbliższym czasie tez niestety nie dam rady go uruchomić o ile w ogóle się na to zdecyduję.
